Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
If you're the person I'm looking for you're probably tired of seeing jobs on here for 'SEO' articles, blog posts, articles for £10 a-piece etc. All are uninspiring to write and don't make the best use of your talent for writing. Plus, they're usually of little use to readers. This project is the complete opposite of those.
Do you:
have an enquiring mind and a talent for writing?
enjoy researching and discovering something few other people know and spreading the word?
love to get paid for helping people?
have a pet? (not essential, but it will be even more interesting for you)
The job:
I'm seeking a proactive, positive person (or people) who can research and write insightful and engaging articles, guides and resources about pets. Initially pet insurance in particular. So if you have experience writing or working in the industry that may be advantageous. It may also be useful if you have a passion for pets with some online or offline 'reach' and influence in that area. An in-depth knowledge of pet insurance would be particularly desirable. Or if you have expertise in a particular area such as if you are a vet or work as a dog trainer, groomer etc. then we may be able to work together.
You'll be someone who not only takes direction for the article topic but you'll also suggest your own ideas to investigate/research. This is beneficial for both of us because it saves me time and earns you money through each piece of content you provide. Suggestions for useful resources we could build would also be welcomed and positively encouraged.
The criteria for work:
I only want to publish content that meet some or all of the following criteria:
- It helps and provides valuable information to pet owners (particularly on pet insurance).
- Provides new insight/analysis or brings attention to little known information.
- It has potential to go viral (be bookmarked, shared, linked to and talked about).
- It is well researched (referenced where appropriate).
- It uses an attention-grabbing headline and has content to back it up. Headlines are crucial, as they may be seen without any other part of the article. I'll provide some example of the style of headlines I'm aiming for once your bid has been accepted.
- It has suggestions for info-graphics (to visually display a point through the use of a custom graphic), illustrations, images, photos etc. These usually help enhance the article so I'm keen to include these where it would add value to the reader. You only need to suggest an idea for this, I'll get it produced (unless you know someone you can work with to do this).
Budget:
You can suggest what you think is sensible in your bid. I would like to work on a fixed price basis per job - just so I know what to expect but we can discuss this if you're not comfortable with it.
Bonuses:
I'll give you a cash bonus for every article you write that gets 100 or more shares within one month of being published (as long as they have occurred naturally, although you can of course promote the article to an appropriate audience if you wish).
IN the future, this bonus criteria will change into something which takes into account the article's popularity on more than just shares.
Interested?
If you're interested, that's fantastic. Send me your bid and I'll select up to three of you to do a paid article. We'll go from there, more work will be available for at least one, if not all three of you.
Note:
With billions of pages on the web and hundreds of thousands in my particular space, mediocre content won't cut it. So, unless you are passionate and capable of creating 'curated' / remarkable / insightful content in the pet insurance/pets topic area, please do not bid on the project.
