When you say a company portfolio I don't understand what that is in this context?
Andres Molina P.28 Sep 2016Hi,
Probably portfolio is not the best word to describe it, sorry about it.
Let say is a marketing document to present to possible new clients letting them know what are our services, what we do, and what can we do for him. And talking a bit as well of what is our main business right now ( is a software for financial institutions). Mainly is because we have a client, which is interested on our software financial, but is interested as well on our developing side of the business, so we might be able to send us all the developments of his clients.
I don't know if that makes more sense to you, does it?
Thanks
kind regardsFrancis E.28 Sep 2016I see now what you are looking for Andres. It maybe more than one page especially if you want to build out Case Studies which is how a lot of B2B services are sold. Also it will need a certain amount of your time and input to properly understand where you want to position the business, USP of the software etc.
I would make a suggestion as follows - a one page document given A4 size as standard usually only takes about an hour to write and proofread before sending to a client. This need a bit more input time, to understand the business, and the wording needs to be more precise in style than say a Blog would be as it's a tighter wording style and there is more of a change of a reader reading it word by word rather than speed reading it as would with a Blog.
The safest way to get a fair transaction yourself and potentially myself if to suggest to complete this based on a number of hours, a low number and we can see how much time the process starts to take up, and a reasonable rate per hour considering that a little bit of Consulting is required to shape the final outcome.
I'd suggest something like four hours initially and that could well be enough to get a document done or I could just post a ph rate and you can draw down on how many hours you feel are appropriate Andres? -
Hi Andres,
Notwithstanding your reply to the other question, your suggested rate is derisory. You will not get quality if that's your budget, even if you've had proposals within that budget.
The thing is, freelancers only get a certain number of credits on PPH each month so we can only submit proposals for a certain number of projects. At the budget you're quoting, it's really not worthwhile for a serious writer to waste a credit submitting a proposal because it's better to save those credits for more sensibly priced jobs.
I have a background in both IT and finance so I'm sure I could do this, but I won't be submitting a proposal unless you can suggest a better budget.
Thoughts?Andres Molina P.27 Sep 2016Hi,
First of all, let me thank you for showing you interest in this job.
That being said, the price in the job, it's the minimum price the platform allow me to put, but the job is open to proposals. As you might know, as a seller you can send me a proposal with a different price than the one advertised, and that is what I tried to aim.
In regards to what is the amount I would accept, it all depends. The amount of words needed to write in this particular case is such a small amount of text (half page), as the only thing we need to see is your writing abilities. If we like your writing the real work is to write a full portfolio service for us, in which case we would like to agree a price with the selected person.
Let me know what do you think is a fair price for you in regards to this small job, and I will let you know if it qualifies for our "budget". I cant tell you a price for it, because to be honest I don't know how much it cost, and that is the reason why I did not want to put a certain price on the job offer.
Thanks
Kind regards -
Hi Andres
How much copy do you actually require for your budget?
Thanks
NeilAndres Molina P.27 Sep 2016Hi Neil,
I need between half page and one page of text, to be able to decide if I like your writting so I can send you another proposal for the full company portfolio of services.
Thanks
Kind regardsNeil P.28 Sep 2016Hi Andres
I'm afraid I couldn't do that for your budget, but if you're open to suggestions then I can put forward a proposal based on how long I believe the first part of the project would take and what the price for that would be.
Thanks
Neil -
£8 for UK writers? Presumably you want about 10 words which is what you'd get from anyone different.
Andres Molina P.27 Sep 2016First of all, I'm open to suggestions, I just put what the platform suggested.
Second, I do have already a few proposals, so you better keep your thoughts for you.
Third your, comment is just not professional, so don't even bother on sending a proposal, I don't want to waste your or my time.
Thanks for showing your interest.
Kind regardsDavid S.27 Sep 2016You sound confused. Which is it? It's a default rate you say but then you're proud that people have already pitched? By the way, neither of those is a UK based writer and only the desperate would pitch at anything close to such a rate. I don't think it's unprofessional to question the rate that you have advertised as fixed. I've written over 600 articles for happy clients since November so I'm afraid I do know what I'm talking about. Very best regards.
