First Match Services Inc. is seeking a Proposal Writer to provide start-to-finish expertise in proposal writing services for our federal client contracts.
Reporting to the CEO, this is a part-time position which will oversee all proposal activities, including managing proposal schedules and deadlines, maintaining files and solicitations, developing proposal outlines and templates and monitoring the progress of the proposal.
Responsibilities:
Analyze government RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs to determine proposal requirements
Work with leadership to develop strategies, win themes, discriminators, benefits, risk mitigation to develop compliant successful proposals.
Conceptualize, write, review and revise compelling proposal sections in response to RFPs while ensuring seamless integration with the overarching proposal narrative.
Conceptualize, create and integrate visually compelling and informative graphics and illustrations to include flow charts, screen shots, and other pertinent charts
Managing the proposal pipeline: tracking key dates for internal and external deliverables, assisting in prioritizing proposals deadlines, communicating metrics and proposal status at meetings.
Business development activities; including pipeline development and monitoring, identifying and tracking opportunities, performing pre-solicitation proposal preparation activities, etc.
Assist in identifying and tracking industry-related conferences, pre-proposal briefings, and other business development related events.
Editing proposals and calculating the budget as needed.
Update systems, procedures, and standard processes.
Creation of templates and forms used by the various stakeholders for each proposal.
Qualifications and Skills
Prior proposal writing experience is required. The proposal writer is the primary writer of the proposals and must ensure the proposals clearly articulate our services and are professionally presented in "one voice" while being responsive to client project requirements, internal stakeholder input, and industry standards.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related writing field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three to five years of professional proposal writing experience in the federal government arena is required and have an understanding of Federal Government contract proposal efforts and proposal preparation.
Strong grammar and writing skills.
Excellent communications skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, with proven initiative and high organizational skills.
Experience with collaborating with subject matter experts.
Demonstrated ability to describe complex concepts and services and develop the level of detail required in response to RFPs.
Detail-oriented and excellent follow-through skills.
