The writer of summaries of technical white papers and research documents will provide annotations/summaries of documents using, as much as possible, his or her own language.
The documents to be summarised are around 15-20 pages in length. Summaries will be in the range of 900 words.
The writer/summariser will be required to use judgement in selecting for each annotation an appropriate tag from a predetermined list.
Summarisation/annotation requires the use of software, to which we subscribe. This is an intuitive software that can be mastered quickly.
The summariser exports textual data to an Excel worksheet and from there to a word document for self-editing.
The summariser then writes approx 100 word landing page copy
A screencast will be provided to instruct the summariser in how to follow the process.
An NDA will be required.
Required for this job are abilities to:
• read and understand technical documents, white papers and research articles
• summarise through selecting important points
• restate these points in original, concise language
• self-edit
• work cooperatively with a number of team members
• manage workload using a variety of software
• handle a variable workload as determined by the software
The summariser will be joining a team that are currently summarising documents as per this methodology and time taken is approximately 1.5 -2 hours per summary and landng page copy.
