Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
We are looking for someone to help with editing interviews.
We will provide you with a machine transcription of each interview and the original audio to work from. We are looking for you to edit down the machine transcription into a final publishable piece. This includes (but is not limited to) making sure sentences are correct, condensing and deleting repetition of ideas, shortening long explanations of ideas, removing unnecessary filler words like 'err' 'umm' 'like' 'very' etc.
Please note that we are not looking for someone to just tidy/clean up the machine transcription. We are looking for someone to intelligently edit down what was said to crisp, understandable questions and answers.
You will need to have a high standard of English (including grammar, punctuation and spelling) and a good ear for audio. Ideally you will have some experience in editing interviews already as you'll need to have a knack for recognising useful information and what should be included/cut.
All of our interviews are conducted in English and are usually between two parties (occasionally three). Please note that interviewees are from all around the world, which means there may be a variety of accents.
The interviews average between 30 minutes and 1 hour. The published format is Q&A style. We can provide lots of examples of previously published pieces.
If chosen we would like to initially try you with a single interview to see how you get on, but we are hoping to find someone we can work with on an ongoing basis as we have interviews taking place every week.
