Are you asking merely for:
the preparation of a single specification ready for your firm to file a US design patent application, this would require your firm to have a reliable address for service in the USA (a legal requirement):
or
the full service of preparing specification, arranging filing reporting and managing examination and ongoing management up to issuance? This is much more complex and correspondingly expensive. The latter process always breaks down into stages, ie
(1) preparation of the application including specification, inventor declaration, and power of attorney, filing,
paying the official fees, reporting filing and reporting examination:
(2) responding to any objections raised by the USPTO examiner (there are nearly always some)
(3) paying the issue fee -
You have asked for a quote for preparation of a "design patent". Design patents are primarily US intellectual properties, they do not exist in the UK and Europe yet you seem to be based in the UK. Do you clearly understand the difference between a design patent and a utility patent? Are you confident that what you require is a design patent? It is very common for non-experts to confuse design and utility patents not to mention registered designs. If not I strongly recommend that you ask for advice on what you need and I can then bid for that task.
If you do require a US design patent, what materials do you have to work from? Drawings, photos, or models?Gintare R.21 May 2018Hey there,
Thank you for your message.
Yes, we do require design patents for US IP. Our firm has patents worldwide, and the US is one of our main market. For US design patents we have drawings, photos, the model itself.Paul K.22 May 2018I understand from your reply that you require a US design patent and that you do not have or want any corresponding IP (registered designs) elsewhere? Please confirm that the design is presently a secret. Also please confirm where you are based as this will affect my bid for procedural reasons.
