Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am looking at asking my employer for flexible working hours. I have a child with autism he has needs and SEN report and funding etc.
You may know a child with autism can be complex and requires a great deal flexibility on the part pf the parents. Although he starts school in September, I will still require flexible working hours as the very nature and unpredictability of his manner means my wife and I need work around him.
I have left work a little early on occasions, my line manager is not very understanding and has made comments like,
‘This does seem to becoming a more regular - you have to be aware how this may appear to your staff.’ I not sure I’m interested in how it appears to staff they don’t have a child with special needs.
To complicate things, I work for a very small not for profit and my line manager is the Chair of the board.
So, in short, I’m looking for a letter that I can send to all of the board including the Chair.
Is this something you can help with?
Regards
Arun
