Make Middle School Great Again! I would like help writing a story about a middle school election that mirrors the 2016 election, using issues middle schools care about.. This is my first page.
“Our middle school is a disaster! Teachers are incompetent. Kids are afraid of walking in the hallways. Our building is falling apart. No one knows what the hell is going on!” Connor King launched his political campaign for student body president while standing on a milk crate in the cafeteria. “Our student government gets nothing done. Our current president has dragged our test scores into a swamp. Other middle schools laugh at us. I will make our middle school great again!”
Five kids were paid to listen and applaud Connor’s speech. John Jenkins, who enjoyed being five dollars richer, started a chant, “Make middle school great again!” But the chant never caught on. Why? Well one of the tables were exchanging homework and test answers. Another table were pushing kids off the edge and blocking them from coming back. There was a gossip table. There was a roasting table. And the table in the far corner was quiet, as every student stared into space. Students were preoccupied, and it was hard to get anyone’s attention a month before the election.
I have uploaded a document that has the first two pages I wrote, writing samples from a previous ghost writer, and notes for ideas, connections, and direction. Ideally writing would be comic, but not a must.
