Hi Everyone
I would like content writing for a weekly newsletter for the residents of our retirement home in England.
Primarily the content will consist of reminiscence stories around 70-100 words in length that refer to nostalgic items from the past (typically 1940-1979). For example, first man on the moon, sporting events, coronation of the Queen, rationing, famous movies, famous music, cultural icons, this day in history. In addition some articles will need to be simple puzzles such as general knowledge quizzes, and missing word games.
Most of our residents have dementia so an appreciation of this is desirable but not mandatory, however the articles must be clear and easy to read. The newsletter will be read by the resident or, where the dementia is advanced, read to the resident by a carer and used as a way to stimulate conversation.
I am looking for someone to:
- Research content and write articles in a style suitable for the intended audience.
- Write nostalgic articles specific to the city in which the care home is located.
- It would be good if you are also able to source images to complement your articles.
- Understand copyright and ensure that it is not breached.
The articles need to be provided in rich text format or Microsoft Word, and delivered to us via email or made available for us to download.
As this is a weekly newsletter I anticipate the need for a several hundred articles per year, though initially I just want a few written to kick-off the project. With this in mind I would be grateful if you could let me know (a) how much it would cost for you to write articles for us (b) why you would be the best person for the work and (c) provide some examples of the kind of work you have done in the past.
This is an interesting project from which you can take some satisfaction from the knowledge that your work will bring real pleasure to a vulnerable group of people.
Regards
Mark
