Description
Currently, I am the chief editor/proofreader for all the team's work, but now because of the volumes of content I'm dealing with on a daily basis, I am looking to subcontract this aspect of the work out to a professional proofreader.
All writers on the team are native English, and produce work to above 98% accuracy each time they deliver. What I require is someone who is able to be available throughout the working week and weekends on Skype, more or less on demand, ready to receive incoming content on a set deadline, proofing it and returning within a very short timeframe.
It may be the odd 500 word article sent to you, it may be ongoing client content of 30-40k per month per client, it may be a huge batch like we have now that has 300k worth of content needing reviewed before the end of the month, and an additional 600k before the end of October, just one of the clients.
As you can see, we'll be needing in excess of 1,000,000 words per month proofread accurately so we need someone who is reliable for ongoing work to form a good relationship with. You will be the last line of defence when it comes to spelling/grammar/formatting of articles.
For rates, I'd either purchase a large amount of proofreading off you and you chip away at it as needed. Or we can work weekly, you join my team, and you are paid for the proofed word count of that week. An NDA would need to be signed which prohibits sharing the work of my clients that you proofread, or using it as samples.
Please don't bid if your amount is more than 50p per 1000 words of proofreading because it's basically compensation for the time it takes you to read through and tweak the odd thing here and there - if there is even anything wrong with it in the first place.
Also don't bid if you're not a native English person, as that would defeat the object of the posting. Depending on your rate will depend on how much work I can send you- some of it, or a full-time position with me where you take all of it as my right-hand man.
Attached are 3 samples of what you'd be expected to proofread.

Did you know you also require an editor rather than a proofreader? Your writers aren't fantastic, you know. Closets don't have a gender, so you can't have a male one. Sentences are rambling. And by the way, it's Oxford shirt, not oxford. I'm not sure you realise the extent of work needed. Therefore, is there any leeway on price?

If 50p per 1k words is your best offer for a native reputable proofreader, you’re going to be sorely disappointed...
-
"Please don't bid if your amount is more than 50p per 1000 words of proofreading"? No professional proofreader works at the rates you quote. You must be making a fortune off all the people you are ripping off.
-
Why are you offering illegal and immoral rates please? Even if someone is just reading something they deserve to be fairly compensated for their time. You're asking a lot and offering shockingly low amounts, it's disgraceful and pure greed.

50p per 1,000 words!! I was interested until I read this bit. You'll get someone with a spell-checker for this price, not a professional.
-
I would be happy to bid on this if you could please increase your £ per 1000 words to a fair amount please.......
Anglo Content17 Sep 2018Explained to other peeps what the deal is with this, and very explicitly stated in the posting.

Hello,
Thank you for the bidding invitation. However, the project requires a native English speaker and unfortunately I may not meet the qualification. I would be glad working with you for some other projects if given a chance. Thank you and I wish you more success in the future.Anglo Content17 Sep 2018Yes that's right, I think it sent a load of autoapplications sorry....

Re "50p per 1000" - did you know?
Standard proofreading is 1500-2000 words per hour;
Quick proofreading is 2000-4000 words per hour;
Extremely rapid "skimming" proofreading is 4000-8000 words per hour!Anglo Content17 Sep 2018Sorry mate, you're trying to school me, who proofreads 1 million+ words per month for many years now how long it takes? Do you not think I know that your figures are whack. I can fully edit, properly, not skim, a 5000 word article in 30 minutes, and that is searching for the correct hyphenation of things, and certain brand names on Google, as well as leaving comments in the margin. What I need on this job, is someone to just read and touch up as you go, you may be slow like that but I'm looking for someone quicker sorry pal..
