I am looking for a native British speaker to proof-read a website and make small changes for search engine optimisation (if any). The spelling is correct now, but I am looking to give the website a native British feel. Grammar must be perfect and the text should be sound. When people read it a good, money-spending feeling should be generated, google should pickup keywords with all its tentacles :)

I run a residential IT business in Yorkshire. There are two types of customers I'd like to address with the website - professional skilled clients like police officers and nurses who make balanced decisions to call me and no-one else (usually recommendations at work and friends); and there are established people who want all problems covered and are not interested how I do it, the end result for them is the key: landlords, business owners, solicitors, ets. Both types of people are well-connected and my services should appeal to them. All also tend to stick with me in the future and I help with their business side of IT at a later stage.

Currently there are around 20 different pages with text. 16 of them have the following structure: introductory paragraph, some bullet points, then a short introductory sentence, some more bullet points and possibly a closing paragraph. Business section is a little longer with each bullet point explained.

Front page has some very short text (20-30 words) on four sections that must be perfected. It is the most important part of the website and must be good. In fact it must be excellent, straight to the point, getting that trusty-money-spending-feeling. I don't think it is as good as it gets now and probably may be re-written/edited completely, including the title. I have a testimonials page - that may be used as a guide on what is important to people - this should be a good start.

Testimonials page has a paragraph of text and loads of reviews. The reviews should stay exactly as they are with all spelling mistakes, etc, just the top section should be addressed if required.

All the pages are linked with a menu and menu titles may be changed if you feel they should. Small rolling pop-ups are present around the website. Their wording has been carefully selected, so should be mainly checked in the same way for awkwardness. There is some more footer text and a contacts page, same applies to them, the text there is very short: a sentence or two.

I am looking for someone to make sure the text is as good as it gets. It must be British, no awkward phrases, sentences or words (I am not a native Brit myself, hence these problems!). On the other hand it must not be a corporate business report on computer problems. No jargon what so ever! I am not looking to be a massive international company, but more of a friendly, very professional service who people trust. It should make sense to call me and not to struggle themselves. Business section is opposite however, it can have some corporate structure and relevant wording to appeal to businesses (it should do already!) :)

KEY POINT: I feel you should add some descriptive text to provide more flow around the bullet points, contact us page, etc.

I don't need for you to correct "-" into "—" and change "AM" to "a.m." with a non-braking space at the end. I am purely looking to work with words, sentences and paragraphs. Some titles too. I expect you'll email me a text document with edited text and I will replace the current one. Do not make it look the same, add formatting or anyting else for cosmetic reasons, I'll do the technical side of transferring it to html myself. If I was the editor I would copy the section's text into Word, make the changes, add a page break and copy the next one.

Please provide examples of your work. I am looking for the right feel and flow of text and I am open-minded about your age, education or certificates.
