Description
The client provides services to Councils in the United Kingdom. They provide bus shelters, bus stops and all the things that go around that (installation, refurbishment, cleaning, maintenance, timetables etc).
There are lots of things to consider when working with bus shelters. For example, traffic management, safety for pedestrians.
We have a number of topics/ideas that the client has thought up.
I am thinking that the process could be something like:
I agree with the client on the topic(s) that need to be written about.
The client provides some "Insights, Thoughts, Topics to cover, Headers, Questions that might need answering, Why his company does it so well" etc etc..." - We will probably create some kind of briefing document (or you may have one already that we can work to).
This "brief" would then be sent to you.
Armed with this initial 'outline' information, you would then probably need to do a bit of rummaging, research and reading up on/around the topic.
We could then arrange for you to contact the client directly via email and/or a scheduled call. He is pretty busy trying to do too much, it can be hard to pin him down - - - but I think a follow up call/chat is useful because (like many clients) things can deviate/wander a bit from brief. So, it's always useful to pin the client down a bit and clarify the detail/flow of the piece.
Once you're happy, we're looking for an article to be written that has value (i.e. is "useful, informative, educational") to the target audience (i.e. bus shelter buyers at UK Councils). I am guessing the article would need to be anywhere from 500 to 1500 words.
It's also key that each article brings in a few key underlying messages (for example, that the client does a better job through use of software, technology, training and the like)... I can tell you more on that later.
The client would then review the article.
I would expect amends!! He likes to have input and add things.
We need a 'per article' price so that we can then budget a monthly amount going forward.

Hi Adam,
Can I clarify what the budget is meant to clarify? It's not a realistic rate for 6 articles, let alone 10, particularly bearing in mind that we lose nearly a quarter of your payment in fees.Adam C.06 Nov 2019£100 my 'guestimate' is for 1 article.

Is that a Fixed Price of £100 per article? Or is this an ENTRY rate job? Please clarify.
Adam C.06 Nov 2019It is a guide/starting price (it's what the client mentioned as a price they would be happy to pay)... per article. So, if we do 6 articles at £100, it would be £600 in total. I don't know what the value/price of these things normally is. Some people are proposing less than £100. Some more... But I think the judgement will be done on more than just price (I hope so anyway!).
