Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
This is a long-term and ongoing opportunity where I'm looking for truly knowledgeable and passionate writers who can produce highly engaging content on a weekly basis for my new woodworking website.
*** Whom I'm looking for ***
The ideal applicant will have in-depth knowledge about DIY/power tools and woodworking tools topics, either because he or she is passionate about it or due to extensive first-hand experience dealing with them.
However, excellent research skills and a personality that shines through in writing is more important and can trump first-hand experience as long as you can produce quality, long-form content that is accurate, information-rich and has personality.
Regardless, excellent research skills are a must!
Content can be:
Buying Guides (e.g., best-of articles)
Product Reviews (based on internet research, where you will find discussions on the products and use other reviews to write a shorter and simpler review)
Knowledge-Based Articles (regular blog articles)
However, I might occasionally ask for other article types such as list-style posts, pros and cons, myth-busting, product reviews and
recommendations or whatever.
The articles will be anything from 1,200 to 3,500 words, with most aiming to be between 1,500 and 3,000 words. Some pillar articles may be much longer (>4000 words).
You will have to research other websites, forums, and blogs. I only focus on publishing high-quality, well-researched, useful content aiming to be the best content on the Web for each article produced.
You would need to have an engaging voice and be able to relate to and entertain readers while being highly informative and able to truly teach and communicate useful information in a friendly, entertaining way.
I'll provide you with writing guidelines so you know exactly what to do, and you can ask me questions anytime if there's something you're not sure about.
*** Conditions: ***
I will pay you a rate per written word
Ability to meet deadlines
Willing to make changes based on editorial feedback
*** What does the job offer? ***
I'm thinking $0.020 per word ($20 per 1000 words). But I would rather pay by the quality of the article and not limit or add fluff to a piece to make a word count.
I'm hoping to establish a long-term, ongoing relationship with good writers.
All offers, no matter how high or low, will be considered.
*** What to include in your application: ***
Your previous experience and what makes you ideal for this opportunity
Links to 3 examples of relevant work you have previously published.
Your rate per word for written content.
Any questions or further information you would like from me.
Please include "Sawlab" in your application.
I look forward to hearing from you.

You should increase the rate to $20 per 500 words.
Shakil M.13 Sep 2018Sorry, My budget is for 1000 words $20-25.
-
Why is your budget set at $1.5K when you are actually offering $20 per 100 words? We have to spend more to bid on high value opportunities, this budget seems really misleading.
Shakil M.13 Sep 2018$20 per 1000 words not $20 for 100 words.
Alice V.13 Sep 2018Yes, that was a typo. My point was that can't expect to get an expert to work for entry prices. $10 per 1000 words is beginner fees, not experienced freelance writer fees.
-
That is not an expert rate.
Try entry.Shakil M.13 Sep 2018Exactly, I am looking for a Topical expert.
