Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Num. of articles: Ongoing
Words per article: 1500-2500
Information for the blog/website: Info-packed top 10 lists
Topic: Listicles
Tone: Instructional/Educational
Outline & Structure: Hi there,
We are looking for a resourceful, smart, and creative writer to write 1500+ word info-packed list-driven top 10 articles. These are not the gif-filled fluff pieces you'll find on Buzzfeed or HuffPo, but smart, insightful, and engaging articles that look at things in a different light.
Topics can be on anything from film and sports to science, psychology, or history. The types of list articles we are looking for are usually offbeat, approaching something normal in an unexpected way, things most people don't know, common misconceptions debunked, incredible unsolved mysteries, or little known facts about historical figures.
To give you an example, an article on 10 People Who Were Burned At the Stake might be good; but a better one would be 10 People Who Were Burned At the Stake And LIVED.
We're not looking for generic top ten listicles that litter the internet. Your content must be unique, original, and bonus points for the more obscure facts you can dig up. Most importantly, your list articles shouldn't just be copied or modified from existing lists on the internet.
Requirements:
1. Possess excellent writing skills
2. Have a keen eye for detail
3. Show a passion for writing
4. Stay on top of trends
5. Must sign agreement to relinquish rights to ownership/copyright
Ideally the winner of this project will be able to write 1-2 1500-2500 word top 10 articles per week, with the possiblitly of this arrangement to continue on for the foreseeable future.
When You Send Your Proposal:
Note that while we don't require any particular experience or qualifications, we will be very picky in who we ask to come aboard.
That means no generic responses will be accepted. When submitting your proposal, make sure you:
1. Send your resume as well as 2-3 writing samples.
2. Tell us why you'd be a great candidate for the role. Really sell us.
3. Pitch us on 3 potential article titles you would like to write.
4. How much you'd like to make for each article.
We look forward to your submissions. Thanks and happy bidding.
Extensive research needed: yes
