* Politics without Ideology
There cannot be a political party without ideologically defined boundaries, which its members are passionate about defending as what its party represents. This is what gives each political group its distinguishing factor, the essence of their formation and the uniqueness they have to sell to the public. This ideology has to come with a level of mastered consistency that can be traceable to individual parties.
Ideology, which refers to the philosophy of a political party, which must take into cognizance, the welfare and security of the people, which is the primary aim of government, must become its guiding principles in canvassing for the mandate of the people to govern them. The ideology of a party is its distinguishing factor in a pool of political parties, which may exist in a country. For example in developed climes parties always conform their manifesto to their ideology and employ same to drive support from the people. For example there are 2 leading political parties in America, namely the Republican Party and Democratic Party. The Republican Party is conservative ideology while the Democratic Party is liberal.
Lack of political ideology is the bane of our politics and governance in Nigeria and in many Third World Countries. This informs why governance lacks direction and relevance to the hopes, yearning and aspiration of the populace. It is also the main reason, why people cross carpet without restraint in this part of the world.
This article seeks to address the inevitability of ideology to politics, depicting ideology as the blood of political parties and their ability to meet the hopes, yearnings and the aspirations of the people.
Research and statistics will be needed in this article and it should not be less than 1000 words.
