We publish a magazine aimed at British Armed Forces Service-leavers
Brief:
Scotland is a very wide area to discuss regarding its potential as a place for
Service-leavers to resettle. Rather, in this feature we’ll look at its two biggest spheres of
influence, Glasgow in the west and Edinburgh in the east.
We compare and contrast the two different cities/areas and discuss what each has to offer
Service-leavers are On closer inspection there are plenty of reasons why this vibrant part
of England would make an ideal place for Service-leavers looking to resettle. The region
takes in several counties and important conurbations such as Birmingham, Leicester and
Nottingham and offers, therefore, opportunities for work in several different fields as well
as choice in where to purchase a home and put down roots.
………………………………………………………………………………………………
Please include:
Notes on leading Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as the areas that surround them.
Career opportunities in each city – leading employers and sectors.
Leisure opportunities around the cities
House prices, including property hotspots and up-and-coming areas.
Any other facts/stats that may be interesting or useful for Service-leavers.
………………………………………………………………………………………………
Please note:
Please use any relevant stats, facts or figures – but make sure that they are
properly sourced.
Introduce your piece with a ‘lede’ paragraph of one or two sentences.
Keep paragraphs simple and compact (65 words max).
Make your point quickly. Who, what, when, where and how? These facts need to
be in the first portion of your submission.
Write to the reader. Our audience is made up of Service-leavers from the British
Armed Forces – and their families.
Keep it positive. We exist to inspire our readers and empower them with
‘answers and solutions’.
Add any helpful information (at the end of your submission) such as telephone
numbers and web addresses of organisations relevant to the subject you have written about. (Please no hyperlinks – they do not work in a printed publication.
Use reasonably short web URLs starting with www.)
Our readers will be well aware of general help available to the as Service-leavers
and Veterans. You do not need to add this information.
Add any interesting/related facts, styled to small boxouts.
