Description
Experience Level: Entry
Word Count: 900 words
We publish a magazine for people leaving the Armed Forces providing advice on Employment, Education and Training.
Summary: The NHS launched its biggest ever recruitment drive in July 2018.
The biggest recruitment drive in the history of UK National Health Service is being
launched in an attempt to fill thousands of vacancies following Theresa May’s promise
last month of £20bn a year more for the system by 2023.
………………………………………………………………………………………………
Please include:
Why Service-leavers succeed in the NHS environment – work well under
pressure, leadership skills, etc.
Discuss transferring established medical skills – as well as non-medical roles.
Ongoing difficulties with Brexit – overseas staff leaving and recruitment numbers
down since the 2016 referendum.
………………………………………………………………………………………………
Please note:
Please use any relevant stats, facts or figures – but make sure that they are
properly sourced.
Introduce your piece with a ‘lede’ paragraph of one or two sentences.
Keep paragraphs simple and compact (65 words max).
Make your point quickly. Who, what, when, where and how? These facts need to
be in the first portion of your submission.
Write to the reader. Our audience is made up of Service-leavers from the British
Armed Forces – and their families.
Keep language informal but stick to accepted forms of usage. Steer clear of text speak and of overusing
exclamation marks and hyphens etc.
Keep it positive. We exist to inspire our readers and empower them with
‘answers and solutions’.
Add any helpful information (at the end of your submission) such as telephone
numbers and web addresses of organisations relevant to the subject you have
written about. (Please no hyperlinks – they do not work in a printed publication.
Use reasonably short web URLs starting with www.)
Our readers will be well aware of general help available to the as Service-leavers
and Veterans. You do not need to add this information.
Add any interesting/related facts, styled to small boxouts.
