We are looking for an experienced content writer to produce a blog post/article for our audience of Marketing & HR professionals.
We would like a piece of writing discussing Millenials in the workforce. Who they are, what it means for the workplace and what it takes to truly engage a Millenial at work. We are a company focusing on employee benefits and engagement so we will be looking to paint it positively as how best to engage this generation.
Below is the what we have so far:
What is a millennial workforce?
In today’s society large companies will have staff in varying age groups covering baby boomers, Generation X and millennials. Millennials are the generation currently storming the workplace between their early 20’s to late 30’s. Each generation has its identifiable characterists while these can play up to certain stereotypes, millennials were raised with vast changes in technology and huge social and economic transformations which produced an increasingly conscious generation.
Why is a millennial workforce so different to others? (Expectations, mentality and drive)
Millennials are often misunderstood as lazy, entitled know-it-alls but in reality, they just expect more from their employers than the baby boomers and Generation X. When typically the focus laid with employees to give 100% day to day , it is now expected for the organisation to go that extra mile to retain their top talent. With traditional work benefits providing one-off cash bonuses and pension support, it’s no surprise the generation raised with everything available at their fingertips expects more from their respective employers.
Generation by generation it is becoming less imperative for individuals to stay within the same organisation and this is reflected in millennials, who are more inclined to leave their roles for better benefits and holistic pay which supports rigorous lifestyle changes such as starting a family or relocating.
It’s also worth noting that this generation is highly focused on their own personal health and wellbeing and this has also been reflected in many workplaces across the world. Implementing 4 day weeks, flexible working hours and mental health days are becoming increasingly more common in the workplace due to changes in attitudes surrounding the best practice for the best output.
What keeps a millennial workforce engaged?
Providing diverse and flexible benefits that allow millennials to tailor their benefits to their own needs will allow your employees to decide what’s best for themselves.
Millenials are starting families and going through rigorous lifestyle changes so they need flexibility with holidays, maternity/paternity leave and more financial support from their employers.
Allowing your employees to save money outside of work without sacrificing their lifestyles can benefit will allow you to act as a positive touch point in your employee’s daily life by just providing that little bit extra.
Please feel free to use all of this text and go from their fleshing out any points that you can and adding in any interesting statistics you will find while researching.
We would love you to also ensure there is a nice punchy intro including a statistic and a conclusion siting the importance of providing your employees with more than just a standard pay.
Please do not hesistate to ask any questions in regards to this post.
Kind regards,
Alex
