Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
Num. of articles: 4 blogs per month
Words per article: 500-700
Information for the blog/website: We train people in sales using mobile learning sales simulation, online coaching and personal mentoring
Industry: Technology
Topic: Sales
Tone: Formal/Professional
Outline & Structure: This job concerns writing blog copy, managing our article pipeline and content distribution - across our website, third-party blogs and social media channels.
My aims for this job are to:
- Increase 'natural search' traffic volumes to our website by publishing engaging and authoritative content on our subject and gaining third-party links
- Develop a compelling and interesting social media presence primarily focused on LinkedIn (but also Twitter) through the use of topical updates and relevant content
I would like this job to achieve this by:
- Completing one blog post per week, for our instructional/how-to 'Sales Distilled' blog
- Managing an ongoing plan of blogs to ensure coverage of a balanced range of topics
- Posting links and appropriate text promoting blogs, case studies and other topical sales content to LinkedIn and Twitter accounts
- Pitching to, and then helping to publish, the case studies and blogs on related third-party blogs and valuable industry websites to gain brand exposure and link authority
If you were to respond to this Job, you should be familiar with:
- Writing blog copy with a target audience and style in mind
- Researching and interviewing customers
- Demonstrable track-record in writing blog posts and social media management
- Publishing posts to social networks, and associated norms and conventions, with tools such as HootSuite or Buffer
- Gaining content placements on third party websites
- Basic understanding of Wordpress would be useful but not essential
The style & tone for this writing is clear, concise, honest and authoritative. More detailed guidelines outlining the style and tone will be agreed for the case studies, blog and social postings.
Extra notes: We are a growing sales training company based in London.
This job would suit a writer looking to establish an ongoing relationship with us rather than respond to a one-off job. I envisage establishing a regular monthly agreement after a successful trial period.
You would probably work remotely in the UK but would need to visit our London office for a once-monthly planning and review meeting.
I would ideally like someone who can meet all of the objectives of this job, however I am willing to consider applicants who can meet the majority of this brief.
This job would start in May.
