Description
Experience Level: Expert
This is NOT a standard English to Arabic translation so please read ALL the notes below before submitting a proposal.
A little bit more than 5000 words (exact word count is not possible as I have instructions within the text that are not be translated but make it easier for the translator to know what I'm looking for.
PLEASE NOTE: All the sentences on the document will be simple sentences which I can easily use Google to translate for me but I'm looking to have the translation to be done in a certain way by following *ALL* the below guidelines;
1. The words should have all the vowels (harakaat including hamza’s) e.g. ذَهَبَ rather than ذهب. You can leave the words without any vowels to signify sukun if you would like.
2. The translation should use MSA/Fus'ha vocabulary but use the dialectic (a3miya) grammar rules. E.g. if in dialectic you say ana adh’hab rather than ana adh’habu or hadhaa kitab rather than hadha kitabun, then you should end the words in sukun as you would do in dialectic Arabic. Another example, if you would not use tanween in a sentence in dialectic Arabic then you should not use it here as well e.g. if in dialectic you would say kathir rather than kathiran then you must stick to the former. The above is NOT optional, it is essential that you follow the grammar rules that are followed in dialect grammar and abandon MSA/Fus’ha rules if you would abandon it in a3miya. In summary you should use MSA/Fus’ha vocabulary but dialectic grammar rules.
3. Arabic sentences MUST be above the English sentences
4. Please construct the sentences as easy as possible for a beginner in Arabic to understand.
5. The point of the document is to only use the words in the subtitles (signified in bold) in the respective paragraphs and also the following paragraphs. E.g. if the subtitle word is ذَهَبَ you should only use this word and its different forms in this document for ‘went’ and no other words. If you see that it is not possible to use the suggested word in the paragraph for all sentences please DO NOT continue to translate the paragraph in question and contact me before translating it.
6. The point of the different sentences in the paragraphs is to see the word in the subtitles in different forms (e.g. plural or feminine singular or passive voice etc) so ALWAYS construct the sentence so that plural form of the verb is used when referring to more than one person. e.g. instead of writing “dhahaba Ali, Abbas wa Hakim”, instead write “Ali, Abbas and Hakim dhahabu”.
7. ONLY use dual forms if you would use in dialectic e.g if in dialect you would say Ali wa Abbas dhahabu then you must use this rather than using the dual form of the verb.
8. ONLY ما should be used for negation and if not possible لا. Let me know if both are not possible.
9. After your translation you should expect some requests for changes if the Arabic translation you have provided is not exactly what I was looking for (e.g. more complex translation or words used that are not in other parts of the document etc.)
I would like the translation to be completed in 2 weeks so please translate all the sentences in 10 days at the latest so that we have 4 days to make any necessary amendments.
Please see examples of sentences I want translated below;
Tried, Look, Find, Speak
I’m trying to find a book in the library that makes me speak Arabic better. I will look at this book first and I will find a good book soon.
I tried to find someone to speak Arabic to in the library so I found Abbas and I spoke to him. Then I looked at his friends but i didn't know them.
He tried to find Abbas so he looked to the right of the library and found him and spoke to him
He is trying to find Abbas now so he will look to the right of the library and when he finds him, he will speak to him.
She spoke to Ali and also tried to speak to Abbas but she did not find him but then she looked to the left of the library and found him there.
