Medical/Scientific Write/Edit - Anatomy for Sports Massage

We're looking for a competent technical writer who is well versed in the subject of anatomy, physiology, and ideally massage and sports therapy/injury mechanics.

We have an existing section of our training manual (anatomy for sports massage) which is at level 4 (degree level) on the UK qualification framework. We essentially want a a really strong technical edit and re-write, to add a little more technical depth, and to make it less recognisable from the original document.

The job will require you to re-work, edit and improve with additional technical (anatomy and physiology) information to improve the tone, strength and flow of our existing document, currently this sits at about 7,500 words and we'd be looking for around 10,000 on completion of the project.

Ideally, the new copy will be on first inspection unrecognisable from the original copy. This is because we use the supplied document for our level 3 students, so we want our level 4 students to feel like they are getting something different/new.

The document (which we will supply) is in word format and currently sits at 7,673 words. We expect that an additional 2-3,000 words will suffice, but this must be additional and relevant subject knowledge, rather than copywritten waffle.

A sample of our existing manual is attached to this project. We will take care of all design and illustrations, we simply want a raw manuscript with any placeholder images/tables inserted (our designers will recreate).

Realistically, for a competent writer with sufficient subject knowledge, this is about 2-3 days work.

We would want the final project back within 10-14 days.
