Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am the Founder of The Dream Trust UK (www.dreamtrust.co.uk) and its main aim is to facilitate and raise money for young people from difficult backgrounds to fulfil their potential socially, academically, and professionally.
On the careers side, we are keen to link suiable candidates from post 16 to post university graduation age with the Nat West Careers Department who provide opportunities for young people from short term work experience opportunities to longer term internship placement and genuine career enhancing opportunities for young people from lower socio economic backgrounds. This could lead to gradudate apprenticeships and more permanent employment avenues.
The Dream Trust UK is currently in discussions with Nat West Group and we would like to set out in a memo briefing paper how and why we should be an official charity partner for Nat West in terms of identifying and supplying suitable young candidates for their work programmes.
Part of this memo should set out current graphical and empircal data in terms that represent rates of social mobility in the UK in terms of lower socio economic groups and their access to such work experience opportunities and graduate careers at such prestigious institutions.
It would also be good to see any correlation between poor performing schools (state and private) and access to such opportunities.
We need to make a compelling case for why we should partner with Nat West and the above will enable us to do so.
We will:
Identify and supply candidates who have the potential and skills to join Nat West at varying stages of their educational career but from a challenging socio-economic background.
Identify and supply candidates with academic potential who require more intensive contact and mentoring. These people would be more suited to the LTSB programme (Leadership through Sport and Business which already partner with Nat West).
In the longer term, the Dream Trust might be able to dedicate the proceeds of one of its fundraising activities such as a dinner or event towards the work of the LTSB.
We are looking for a 2 to 3 page briefing note.
Thank you
