We are looking foe someone to prepare simple HOW TO documents that detail step by step guides of:
How to - Clean, maintain and store 10 African Artefacts:
Methodology and outputs.
1. Develop a ‘care and protection plan/framework’ to advise the organisation on how it can clean, maintain, protect and best store its cultural and heritage artefacts/materials (over 10 key items).
2. Prepare STEP BY STEP -HOW TO GUIDES that will be used and referred to by the organisation for staff training on the safe and efficient management of artefacts.
3. Provision or signposting of digital resources (Videos) on the care of artefacts, grouped into appropriate categories - E.g musical instruments, sculptures etc. This could also be a list signposting the organisation to already existing videos available or creation of one or 2 videos made specifically for the organisation.
The outputs of the project will be owned by the organisation.
The 10 Artefacts are:
1) Traditional African Drums (Djembe/Bongo
2) Calabash Gourd (Used as musical instrument, planter or for cooking)
3) African Wax Ankara Fabric ( Used for clothing, blanket, mats)
4) African Lute (String instrument)
5) African Wood Carvings (Masks)
6) African Shona Stone Carvings (Art work)
7) African Kalimba Mbira (Musical Instrument)
8)African Kuba Cloth
9)African Beads
10) African Clay Pots
OBJECTIVES
Delivery of this work is expected to achieve the following:
● Organisation has a better understanding of each artefact (90% African/Afro-Caribean)
● Organisation has an effective management plan/framework on how to handle, care for and store each artefact
● Organisation has a training resource for staff and others on the management of artefacts
● Organisation has a digital 'how to' guide for each group of artefacts
● The materials have a better lifespan and are protected
● Materials can be transported stored off-site safely
● Materials are insured appropriately.
The outputs should be presented in PDF and Power Point (or similar) format with visuals and graphics.
Deadline for delivery:
15th December
