Description
Experience Level: Entry
The system won't allow me to enter this, but the hourly rate is actually £7.50.
It is imperative that you have Word 2010 if you are to work on this project. Any lower versions of Word will not work.
The basic idea of the project is to compare PDF documents against corresponding Word documents, and ensuring that the Word document looks exactly the same as the PDF. In addition, the Word document needs to be checked (and amended if necessary) for accessibility. This is where the necessity of having Word 2010 matters as it has accessibility tools built in – for example, images have to have alt tags, and contents tables have to have h1 tags, accountancy pages need to be realigned. In some cases to make the pages conform, entire pages need to be re-typed in. The accessibility check aspect is to make it easier for people with some kinds of disabilities to more readily read the documents.
You would receive two files per document: one PDF and one Word document. This project is already underway, and apparently, easy pages take about 4 minutes, medium difficulty about 8 minutes, hard pages about 15 minutes and re-types about 20-25 minutes. There are around 150 to 200 documents, each document ranging between 30 and 100 pages in length…
There are specific instructions relating to the project to give you a good idea of what’s involved which I can email you. There is also a short video tutorial that I can send (as a link) to everyone who is interested in participating. Once you watch the video, you realise, it isn’t as difficult as it sounds – though it is fiddly!
Initially, 5 documents would be allocated per interested individual. Assuming these go well, and have been completed within a reasonable number of hours, further documents would be allocated.
Thank you
