Proofreading / Copy-editing

I run a service for academics/researchers, proofreading and copy-editing their academic texts. My business has expanded through word-of--mouth and so now I'm at the point where it's necessary for me to take on other proofreaders to assist me. I need to maintain the high standards that have led me to accumulate the wealth of customers that I have, so I'm looking for someone to do a first-pass of some of the texts; I will complete the work. I have included a sample text here which I want proofread using Microsoft Word change-tracking. I want it edited so that no (relevant) errors are reported from the Word grammar and spell-check and so that the language corresponds to idiomatic, formal, academic English. Most of the papers I edit are technical - often they are to do with computer science research. If you are unable to understand the meaning of a sentence, that's fine, simply comment it and move on; significantly altering the meaning is what must be avoided, of course. The rate is £7 per thousand words. The job I have immediately to hand is 5,000 words (this is not related to the example text).
