Proofreader / Editor for EdTech ESL Learning Materials

We’re looking for a meticulous proofreader with editing experience to review and polish learning materials for an EdTech platform aimed at young ESL learners.

This role goes beyond simple proofreading. We’re looking for someone who understands educational content and can ensure that language is clear, natural in British English, and appropriate for children learning English as a second language.

What you’ll work on:
- Google Slides or Slides.com lesson presentations
- Activity books and learning materials
- Files shared via Google Docs / Google Drive using Suggesting mode so edits are tracked

What we’re looking for:
- Educated in the British system
- Degree in English, linguistics, education, or a related field
- Experience in education or EdTech (teaching, curriculum development, educational publishing, etc.)
- Excellent command of British spelling, grammar, and punctuation
- Strong proofreading and editing skills
- Ability to spot wording that may confuse young ESL learners and suggest clearer alternatives
- Comfortable working directly in Google Docs / Slides.com

Scope:
- Review and proofread batches of lesson materials
- Correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling
- Lightly edit sentences to improve clarity, flow, and learner comprehension
- Flag anything that may be unclear or inappropriate for young learners
