Description
I need a dedicated collaborator on a complicated work of fiction novel that is ambitious, genre-bending and multi-strand. I need someone who can write the prose for what i perceive to be around a 60,000 word novel, 24 chapters. I do want to try to publish it in hardback version at first and I guess eventually in e-book version. I also would love to have Victorian-style ink illustrations made (but that is another project, not this one!) And I want it completed in time for my 50th birthday in 2021! This is a story that has been sitting in head and on paper in some shape or another since 2000 and I just really want to get it out of my head now in physically done as book.
I would need the writer to deliver on the following:
1. 60,000 word novel (24 chapters)
2. Initial Draft of the 24 chapters
3. Final Draft of the 24 chapters
4. To have the paper manuscript complete by February 1st 2021 (my birthday is February 13th)
I am not wealthy and I live on my modest teachers wage so I am not looking for someone on the higher end of the budget scale because I can't afford you (no offence!), cheap and cheerful will have to do me, I'm afraid. This project is perhaps suited to an ambitious first timer who wants to stick their teeth into something meaty.
I can offer these financial terms for the ghost writing of the book:
1. £150 deposit to get started
2. Then £150 for payment for each milestone stage completed until we reach the end.
I know this is restrictive to all but the most inexperienced of writers but these are the financial constraints I am working under until I hit a big lottery win or something! But I am not looking for the project the done in like 4-6 weeks, so it is something you can put on the back burner and continue with more lucrative projects. I accept I won’t be priority so don’t worry.
I feel as though I am asking for the needle in the haystack as you will be required to do much research into the topic and themes of the novel (life of black ethnics in Spain, child adoption, child slavery, cults, rituals, Balearic Island life and history, grief, loss, morality, Greek tragedy, classical Greek revenge, Old Testament and travelogues). In other words I need someone who knows their stuff! I am not experienced at writing at all but I do know what I want when I see it on paper and I am a media studies teacher in secondary school so I do have knowledge above 'novice' but would say my confidence at this is novice!
I have a draft of the Prologue and the first 3 chapters. I think there is scope to re-write what is there, however. I have an outline of all the chapters and I have a few chapters in a more detailed summary with bits of dialogue. I will try to do that for all chapters as this bit still needs to be done.
I think it is important to me that the ghostwriter understands my influences and has a working knowledge of the type of literature that the seeds of book have come from.
I am a black American that has been living in England all my adult life, so I guess I am more English at this point than American. But my characters are not American.
I am a fan of classical literature like Hardy, F. Scott Fitzgerald (in bits, lol!) Bronte, Greek classics, but also of Tarentino, Elmore Leonard for their conversational style of dialogue with characters who do grand gestures and monologue and Neil Gaiman Sandman for its showy off knowledge of history. I am a fan of Victorian style novels key characteristics: closer to daily life to show human progress, moral purpose, idealism, ideal truths like- truth, love, justice and brotherhood And I would love my book to be written in a style that eclectically mixes these different worlds of storytelling. This isn't a crash-bang, wallop action story but a tall long glass of water that demands to be sipped not guzzled.
My book's major influences are The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald Sandman comic series by Neil Gaiman, Spanish cinema (Sex and Lucia in particular), The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.
Minor influences inlcude: Seven Pounds by Grant Nieporte, Calliope, The Waves by Virginia Woolfe, Anything Tarentino, Anything Elmore Leonard, Burnt Orange Heresay by Charles Willeford, Jephthah by Book Of Judges.
All this and it’s a black majority cast but this is not a story about race, not at all. I don't really want a hint of racism. I just want it to be normal for these people to be who they are without racism factoring into it. However, the characters are black skinned. It's important for me to tell a story with black characters that isn't typically associated as being a 'black story' as audiences know it to be and I think my influences confirm this.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to hearing from any interested parties!

Hello Sharron
Thanks for the consideration to write the novel. I find it very interesting but my level of English is not enough to face writing a full novel in that language. My native language is Spanish. Many thanks and good luck with the novel! -
This is ENTRY level pay. Please stop misleading us.
Sharron W.04 Jan 2019Does this mean you are interested in the project?

Could you please provide further details about the nature of the novel you want written? A general idea of subject matter and intended publication venue would be helpful. It's also worth noting that £150/25,000 words is an extremely low rate, certainly not an Intermediate rate.Sharron W.30 Dec 2018Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Well the format I am looking to publish is hardback paper copy, not e-book initially.
Here is some info on the story itself.
The story centred around the aftermath of the Spanish Adoption scandal that spanned many decades and rocked the whole of Spain. My story provides a possible answer as to why so many children were taken over a long period of time.
In the fiction of my book it will hint the abductors are part of a child slave ring who are doing a "root and branch" search for what they call nephilem children. Characters such as Hyienna and Yasmina get caught up in this grisly world by mistake and the consequences reach far beyond them.
The abductors are a triumvirate of sisters; Carmelita, Rosalita and Catherine. Collectively, in tight slaving-circles they are known as Moirae because they decide the fates of so many. This backstory also follows how one man undid the Moirae, a man named Kal. Kal is a child-slaver who buys illegally adopted (and abducted) children from the Moirae. Tragedy strikes for Kal when one of his children, Nathaniel, escapes. Because Kal knows the Moirae are morally slippy, he immediately suspects they took him back for a reason. Is Nathaniel a Nephilem? Is that why the Moirae stole him? And so the wheel turns for their downfall. But in the story proper...the Moirae seek their revenge. It's Kal's fate after all.
