PROJECT GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
1. The output file is to be one MS Word document. The entire project consists of researching employer assessment centres and writing a guide containing information and advice for candidates attending an assessment centre.
2. A model guide the provider should aspire towards would be the book published by Kogan Page Ltd titled “How to Succeed at an Assessment Centre”, or the book published by John Wiley & Sons titled “Succeeding at Assessment Centres for Dummies”. Albeit this project would involve a significantly reduced scope given these publications contain approximately 25,000 • 40,000 words. Whilst these books are useful for setting the provider off on the right foot, copyright laws must be strictly adhered to.
3. The Guide must comprise a minimum of 6,000 words (there is no maximum). The Guide shall be generally applicable guidance so that candidates from all employment sectors can benefit from the advice (and suited to candidates from graduate level up to senior management level).
4. The provider is expected to research assessment centres using methods including, but not limited to, searching the internet and assimilating information published in books.
5. The Guide must provide the reader with useful information and advice about assessment centres. The Guide must include examples of what happens at an assessment centre. The Guide must also include:
- Qualities and behaviour that assessment centre administrators would be looking for in candidates. The Guide must also contain guidance on what not to say and what not to do.
- Example structure of an assessment centre (and for assessments of varying duration, e.g. half a day, one day, and two days).
- Example assessments conducted at assessment centres and the Guide must provide guidance for each of these assessments (e.g. personal interview, technical interview, in-tray exercise, aptitude tests, psychometric tests, group presentations, problem solving tasks etc.)
- Sections on what the candidate should do before the assessment centre, and also what they should do after the assessment centre.
- What to wear.
- How to behave outside of the assessment centre (applicable to assessment centres that involve an overnight stay).
- Reclaiming expenses.
- Other topics related to an assessment centre the provider deems applicable (the above should provide inspiration).
6. The style of the writing must be written as though you are an experienced professional in the recruitment industry giving advice to candidates attending an assessment centre.
7. It is accepted that the ideas behind the guidance will not necessarily offer original advice given that this sort of advice and guidance already exists in published form. The text contained within the Guide itself however must be completely original work.
CONDITIONS:
The buyer will retain all rights and ownership. You can research anywhere, but the content you deliver must be completely original and adhere to all copyright laws.
The provider will submit as many revisions as is necessary to meet the specification set out in the General Description above.
LANGUAGE:
Articles must be written in well-constructed English. If English is not your native language, please consider carefully if you are able to achieve the required standard before submitting your bid.
