Copy needed for a Press Release and information on my website
I have two new products, this video explains
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdIRSDkpwZk
The Hostcard is easily understood so it only briefly needs mentioning.
I think the reusable Hostcard is more newsworthy and perhaps 5% of the population could be early adopters for effical reasons – it will be reused by others because of conveyance.
Below is my best copy writing effort, I understand a press release should be about 300 words I hope you can get the points offer. I think the same wording can be used for information on the web site – JUST adding the last paragraph which is a call to action.
Introducing a new innovation that is extremely environmentally friendly and can raise over £150 MILLION POUNDS a year for good causes – it also saves the consumer money.
The reusable Hostcard is a foldable card that has a special adhesive construction on the front and a strip inside.
Users can visit Hostcards web site where there is great app, similar to that found on other online personalised greeting card sites, however instead of waiting for delivery of a finished card; and late delivery is the number one complaint of online companies.
Hostcards app allows users to print the finished design onto just about any paper over 100gsm – event scrap paper that would have been thrown away because there is printing one side – the print is attached to the reusable Hostcard, the card is commercial weight and thickness, the result is a card that looks – feels and stands up like any other card – if superior paper is used the result is even better.
The card that becomes a gift – the recipient of the card displays in the usual way, but keeps it rather than discarding with the other cards, when they next need a card they design a new front and fly sheet using the Hostcard app and again print their design on to paper, the old design is peeled off the reusable Hostcard and replaced with new.
The reusable Hostcards can be reused over 300 times - ink cost is coming down, HP offer a contract price of less than 4p a copy so each use will only cost about .10p including an envelope, if they wish each user could donate £2 to charity and still save money, if the average donation was £2 each card could raise over £600 for good causes – if reusable Hostcards replaced just 10% of traditional cards over £150 Million Pounds a year would be raised for good causes – and its super convenient to use - you have a personalised card in minutes. Future plans include making a donation part of the app procedure making it a more seamless process.
NO POSTAGE TO PAY – because of the increased cost of stamps, the sending and receiving of traditional cards is on the decline, although partly due to more photos being taken than ever before personalised cards are still doing well, its really sad we are sending less cards because people love receiving, holding and displaying cards and far prefer them to e cards– one of the improvements for the Hostcard app planned very soon is sending design electronically.
Perhaps the best way to explain is by example – John was 4 years old when he moved to Australia with his Mother and Father, he really missed the Well Done and Good Luck cards his grandad used to give him – the new function of the app will allow grandad to send designs, that can include his handwriting, that is either scanned or a photo taken of, to his family in Australia - it will go to the family Hostcard in-boxx where they are stored and and an email alert sent to family members, Johns farther prints the design and attaches to a reusable Hostcard to await John; all the designs of the cards can be kept in the inbox making it a memory memento.
Another innovative product offered is the Hostcard, this is very different from the reusable Hostcard - users print on a photo paper and attach to a special adhesive construction on the card , the finished card can be displayed in the usual way, but rather than throw the whole card away the print can be removed from the card, the adhesive will have transferred to the rear of the print which can then be adhered to a fridge or just about any surface, great for lasting memories.
