Outline & Structure: We need a tax writer with e all round knowledge across all taxes, especially relating to small businesses.
Everything is aimed at small business owners, not accountants. It does NOT need to be SEO friendly.
Everything should be well laid out well with good use of sub headings, lists, bold etc to make them look attractive.
Everything should be written in a friendly, helpful, engaging, easy to understand manner, not too much “accountant speak” or excessive technical detail. It should be written as if on the side of the small business owner, not the taxman.
We are likely to have an on-going need for this type of writing on small business tax issues.
We need to have the copyright to everything provided.
We need the following doing…
• 14 Tax Articles which will probably average around 1000 words each but can be anything from 500 to 2000 words, whatever is needed for the topic. The topics are listed below. However, you have flexibility on what to include and can even change one or two topics (just agree the new topics with us). The topics are in the attached word document.
• 2 Tax E-Books. The first is titled “Contracting Guide – Everything You Need to Know” and the second “Ltd Company Guide to Massive Tax Savings”. They should be each be about 40 pages.
• An Annual Tax Calendar. This is just a list of all important tax dates in the year covering all taxes (income tax, paye & benefits, vat, corporation tax, self-assessment etc) affecting small business owners for both business and personal tax.
• 2 Minute Tax Healthcheck. A series of short one sentence questions for business owners grouped into sections (e.g. business, ltd company, employees, personal tax, investments, property, vat, etc) with Yes, No & N/A answers designed to identify if there are areas they could save tax. Aim for 101 questions.
. Tax Rates and Allowances. Laid out to show this years and the previous years rates. These are for small business owners not accountants so need the main rates etc in each section, not necessarily every last detail. The headings needed are in the attached word document.
• Excel Tax Calculators. We need to build some calculators in excel (that we will subsequently change into online calculators). If you do not have good excel skills we may be able to get this done elsewhere although would prefer to keep everything with one person. When making the calculators we need the figures that change each year (e.g. personal allowance or tax rates) to be put together as variables in a separate section of the spreadsheet that we can change each year. The calculators needed are in the attached word document.
These are calculators for use online by small business owners, not for use by accountants.
