Description
Experience Level: Expert
We're looking for someone who can write engaging high quality scripts. The topics will be the histories of big companies, focusing on the founder(s) and how they were able to create such a big company, and the highs & lows along the way.
The length of the scripts will be about 2,500-3,000 words, though there is some flexibility if needed.
This can be part time freelance work or long-term ongoing work if you prefer. The hours are completely flexible.
Payment can be decided based on the quality of scripts written.

The scripts you write will generally be chronological histories / biographies of the entrepreneur and how they built their business - in some cases it may be an underdog success story, whereas other businesses may have controversies / big challenges in their history.
Here's some tips to give you a better idea of what kind of script we're looking for;
1. Research does not just mean looking at the top couple of results on google. We're looking for someone who can really dig into a story, and find some info/angles that haven't been covered much. This means using A LOT of different sources (various articles, youtube videos, podcasts, tweets, books etc).
2. Do not just write out a Wikipedia article. A good story has emotion, highs and lows, drama and excitement. The goal is to tell the story in an interesting way, and take someone on a journey through the company's history - not just a list of dull facts. This is why the storytelling aspect is so crucial.
3. Script length can be flexible - because otherwise that normally means leaving important details out, or adding boring filler. It restricts you too much. So the script can be however long it needs to be, but 2500-3000 words is a good target.
4. However, just because the word count is flexible, be careful that it doesn't lead to lots of unnecessary details / repetitiveness / rambling. One of the hardest parts of a script is cutting out any filler and focusing only on the most interesting and crucial parts of the story. If it's unnecessary and boring, cut it.
5. Splitting the video into chapters/segments helps a lot so that you have a clearer structure and outline to follow when researching/writing. But this is your choice.
6. The goal is to create entertaining content based on the facts. This is why it's really important to fact check claims made by a source. It's extremely important that the script is all fully accurate and not just based on unsupported claims.
You would be able to have some input on which big companies to write about, so you can focus on topics you're interested in researching and writing about.
You can start any time, work any hours, and it's 100% remote from anywhere in the world.
I look forward to hopefully working with you on some great stories!
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENT TO BE CONSIDERED... Please provide a link to ONE piece of writing you have done in the past that is most similar to this job ad. Alternatively if you don't have anything similar, you can write a short intro for the story of any very big company of your choice as a sample, and send the link to that (make sure link is publicly accessible). Without a link to a sample/similar piece of work, application cannot be considered. Thank you.
