We are looking for a third writer to join our team. The writing style is chatty and informal. The sentences must be short, the vocabulary simple but not childish, and the content based on everyday subjects eg objects, people, habits, events and interests important in the UK during 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.
This is a part time post.
There is possible scope for more work – writing entries for industry awards etc.
Work is submitted in Word although the team all use Macs. Some technical competence is required.
Work is submitted to production deadlines.

How much work are you expecting the third writer to take on? You've said that there are six columns per issue, so will each writer be taking on two columns per day, will they be working on alternate days, etc?

Hi Dave, We normally work in monthly blocks, working to a 6 months lead time (ahead of publication), and I would think the new writer would write approx 20 columns a month to start with.
Would you be looking for the writer to supply the topics and images, or would you be asking the writer to write on pre-assigned subjects?Andrew W.22 Aug 2020
Hi there, our writers supply the topics and we then check that they are relevant to the era and appropriate for reminiscence. I hope that helps, thank you very much for your interest.
