Extra notes: We are looking for reputable freelance journalists/writers with a passion in IT, telecommunications and other aspects of information and communication technologies in Africa. Journalists/writers will contribute to news stories, articles and analysis on hot topics on ICTs in Africa. Topics may include, but not limited to mobile networks, Internet connectivity, fiber optics infrastructure development, telecommunication regulation, satellite communication systems, fiber to the home, digital migration, ICT content development.
Prior experience as a freelance or full time journalist or analyst in the African telecommunication sector is highly desirable. We will give preference to journalists or writers based in Africa or Africans in the Diaspora but others knowledgeable about ICT in Africa will be considered. We will initially hire several candidates to write a trial article each, and based on the quality and relevance of the articles or stories, we select a few for a long term relationship. We will evaluate articles based on the following criteria:
• should be at least 500 words and no more than 1 500 words
• Should be original and well written in UK English
• Should be engaging enough as judged by the number of comments from our readers
