Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I am working on content for a job board - Jobsite.com (US version of Jobsite.co.uk). I need an experienced writer with a strong Human Resources background I have a series of up to 50 (500 and 300 word) articles to be written (not necessarily by the same writer). Please apply with a price per article (and discount for volume if relevant). I will need to see your CV and some examples of your work. I have other work coming up, so if you are not successful at one, there may be other opportunities. This is for a US Site and so we want a US writer.
Some example titles are:
Interview Preparation
Using LinkedIn for Job Hunting
Targeting companies you want to work for.
Writing a cover letter to support your Resume.
Wrongful Dismissal
How your Online profile can affect your job prospects....
Objectives
1. To provide useful and helpful advice and content for people looking for jobs in the US, and to set Jobsite.com up as an authority in the jobseekers market.
2. To encourage site users to share or link to the articles
3. To encourage site users to come back to the site for subsequent articles.
4. To significantly support the SEO of Jobsite.com
Language/dictionary: US English
Voice & Tone: We want Jobsite.com to be regarded as an authority. We specifically want writers with strong HR experience so they can write as experts in the field, with personal experience and authority. We want site users to link to and to share the guides. So the guides should be edgy, entertaining and engaging.
The Audience: The audience is job seekers. This can range from people looking for manual work at the minimum wage to professionals and business people looking for the next step up the career ladder.
Keywords: We will provide a list of keywords for each article – please use them when you can, but only as they are relevant – don’t force them into the guide.
Legal issues: As laws vary across the US, we want the guides to avoid getting into specifics of legal issues. Where relevant, simply advise getting legal advice, or raise issues for consideration rather than trying to deal with all of the possibilities within the article.
Use quotations from high profile people: Where possible and relevant we would like the articles to reference notable US business people. So for example you might use a quote from Google’s founder Larry Page, to support a point in the guide.
E.g.“ As Google’s founder Larry Page said in his interview with the Wall Street Journal, ‘…’ “.
You will need to supply us a link to the original source for the quotation.
Generally do this a maximum of twice per 500 word guide.
Format: The guides should have lots of headings, bullet points and engaging formats.
Notes: I have supplied notes for each article. These are really just to further explain what the article should be about, and are not intended as a complete description of the guide content. If any of the notes are irrelevant for the US market please ignore or amend as relevant.
While the guide topics may overlap slightly, we do want each guide to be unique and each one to offer the reader something new. You can refer the reader to a previous guide where necessary.
Subject: The subject heading supplied is just for information. Please provide a guide title/headline.
Sources of Information: Where relevant to the article please provide a list of up to 5 links to other (non competitive) sites which hold helpful information.
Copyright: The copyright for the guide will be owned by Jobsite.com. The writer grants irrevocably and unconditionally to Jobsite.com the right to use, publish, transmit or license the contribution throughout the world.
Original Work: The work produced will be original, completed through original reporting and/or research by the Writer and will not have previously been published elsewhere.
Revision: We expect one round of revisions included in the charge.
Quality: We reserve the right not to pay for poor quality work.
