Description
Experience Level: Entry
I need articles on a variety of different subjects for an up and coming website. Articles will be on subjects such as "Embarrassment, Family, Body Image, travel, Massage, and others."
I am posting again because before I had a similar job posted. It is now gone.
In style the articles will be easily digestible and follow the style of blogs on sites such as psychology today or medium.com. Importantly the articles will be balanced, fair and thought out.
The articles will be posted by the site as its own content meaning they should be as objective as possible.
Almost every writer will write with some sort of bias but this is to be kept to a minimum. There are many sides to everything and these should be included. The site is LGBT+ meaning that the writing should be mindful of that, but that does not mean it should be overly mindful (positive discrimination).
Articles should be 500 > and will be paid at £9 an article with the successful writer being commissioned for 60 articles a month. Articles are not descriptions of the topic but instead explorations of the topic. For example if you are writing on "Sex" the article might be about "The best ways to keep sex fun in a relationship" or if the topic is "Bereavement" then the article might be "The more you miss them the more they meant to you. Learning to realise that the pain can mean something good."
Titles can also include things like, "5 reasons why.... or 7 Tips to... etc.
I need as many articles as possible but will want to measure the quality of the articles first. If you do a good job then this will turn into consistent work.
Here is a rough article that is already going up on the site.
5 ways to Overcome Stress on the go
Tips and tricks to deal with stress as it comes
Stress can be around every corner. Although we tend to avoid stress, it’s never very far away from our everyday lives. Fortunately there are always ways to deal with stress, and even some that can be done in the moment.
Here are seven tips when you feel the stress creeping up on you.
Remember to Breathe.
Taking a deep controlled breath is proven to help regulate and calm down the body. The increased oxygen levels help to elevate your mood and anchor any spiralling emotions. Remembering to breathe at the slightest evidence of stress will alleviate the effects and remove the presence.
Try to think about the bigger picture.
Feeling stressed out is usually accompanied by feelings of helplessness and anxiety over the most minor of things. Trying to look at the bigger picture before we tumble down the rabbit hole of stress is a simple way to ensure we don’t let the stress overwhelm.
Remove yourself from the situation.
Usually when we are getting stressed out there is a cause or series of causes. To identify what the cause of stress is at that moment and then to get away from it before you go over the edge can be an effective means of dealing with the problem before it becomes too much. This does not have to mean running away, instead it's about returning to the problem with fresh perspective and in more control.
Think about something that is a rock or anchor.
Feeling stressed usually feels like losing control. By finding some kind of stabilizing thought or memory, it can help to ground you before you mentally lose your footing. It doesn’t matter what the anchor is as much as how it makes you feel. Some might think about their family, loved one or even pet., The goal is to find a raft in what would otherwise be a storm of emotion.
Think of solutions.
Stress is synonymous with procrastination, especially as a vicious cycle of one leading more to the other. By immediately coming up with a battle plan to deal with the cause of stress as it happens, you break the cycle and begin to turn what was negative instead into the potential to make positive steps. Not all stress is solvable but a lot is and can be, even in the moment.
Not all of these tips will be possible in every moment but some of them are and will have a drastic improvement on how you can deal with stress as it comes. As a hot tip we recommend trying to combine them together so that you give yourself the best possible chance.
