Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Narrative podcast (8–12 min) + 500+ word written statement exploring the United Daughters of the Confederacy’s 76th Convention minutes (Birmingham, Nov 1969) from CSUF Special Collections. Using close readings and scholarship by Cox and Waite, the project argues the UDC’s national memory-making clashed with contemporaneous movements—Alcatraz occupation, Chicano and Black activism—revealing competing visions of American history and the transplantation of Confederate memory into the West.
