Description
Experience Level: Expert
Num. of articles: 10
Words per article: 300-500
Information for the blog/website: High-end, British boutique perfumery
Industry: Lifestyle/Travel
Topic: London life, style, travel, beauty...
Tone: Other
Outline & Structure: I am looking for a blog writer who can ultimately write 10 blogs for a luxury lifestyle blog. The brand is a high-end perfumery (owned by ex perfumer for Chanel and Jo Malone). Think British, sassy, chic, effortlessly cool - luxury but never 'bling'.
The blog is launching in September, so before then we need a batch of content to upload. Thereafter we will be looking for 4 blogs per month.
We are looking to trial writers with a test piece, hence this job. Normally, we will supply a content calendar with titles, but for the purposes of testing applicants understanding of the luxury sector, please apply with one suggested title, and a sample of similar writing. The title that feels closest to the mark for the brand will be chosen for the task.
For a style reference, please see the Tory Burch blog - http://www.toryburch.co.uk/blog/torys-blog.html
Each blog should be 300-500 words as appropriate to the topic. You can choose to write in any of the following strands -
> Culture (London life, celebs, cocktails, recipes etc)
> Events (Must see events in London, and across the world)
> Style (fashion, beauty, icons/muses, home/architecture/interiors etc)
> Travel (places to escape, food, hotels and luxury gadgets)
Writers will ideally be based in London, as the brand is innately London-centric, but if you can prove you know this market and can write seamlessly as if you live and breathe it, then we will consider writers from anywhere. The target audience is 'East-end with money', so knowing the difference between supercool hotels that the wealthy would actually frequent, and trendy hotels that people think they would go to if they were wealthy, is key. Someone who understands the difference between the Hilton and Soho House, or a Ferrari vs. a 1987 Mercedes. We are not looking for international luxe, or really anything/place that would describe itself as luxury (it's probably not in the eyes of people who live and breath luxury) or chain brands. It's really subtle, not gaudy. Obviously if you feel you know London, and this market well then we are happy to consider applications from anywhere, if you can supply examples to support your application. Native English speakers only - your written skills must be absolutely top notch.
For short-listed candidates we are happy to reveal more about the brand, but for now, please apply with a suggested title for your piece, and a sample of your writing style.
Many thanks!
