Description
Experience Level: Entry
Num. of articles: 1
Words per article: 500-1000
Blog/website url: www.strivingforapathy.uk
Information for the blog/website: We rant
Topic: Comedic ranting
Tone: Witty/Sharp
Outline & Structure: I am collecting together a group of writers who excel at comedic ranting, on this site (BEWARE, ADULT LANGUAGE): www.strivingforapathy.uk
Occasionally I need to find a new writer or two to mix things up, and that time is upon me once again. I've posted this ad a couple of times before and tend to get a lot of responses, so apologies if you go for it and don't hear from me.
These are the salient points:
- You get to write a rant on whatever topic you like (note: I prefer more unusual topics if possible to avoid it always being about driving or stuff to do with being a parent).
- It has to at least attempt to be funny/witty/acerbic, not just angry (some on the site are mainly angry but I'm shifting away from those a bit at the moment).
- Swearing is allowed, though not mandatory.
- The length has to be between 500 and 1,000 words.
- It will appear on the site under your own (first) name unless you'd prefer it not to.
- Your piece does not require a title - I will choose one from within your own words (so you will have written the title but I will have chosen it).
- I will edit it, but normally only for grammar etc.
- I will pay you £15, no more and no less, so don't apply if you're not happy with that.
For the best example of what I consider the site to be about, these are mine: www.strivingforapathy.uk/author/chris
I will likely pick two people for the job. I will probably ask for a piece about once a month if the standard is good enough, but I can offer no guarantees. The site makes no money and I will not pay more than £15 so please don't moan about that - consider that it's pocket money for a fun job.
Happy to answer any questions anyone may have, though the project is explained in full in the various 'other' pages of the site.
Extensive research needed: no
