Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Num. of articles: 1
Words per article: 800
Information for the blog/website: Travel guides and blog articles
Industry: Lifestyle/Travel
Topic: Travel
Tone: Informal/Casual
Outline & Structure: Hello Freelancers!
We are about to launch a travel website, and although the majority of the content will be our own going forward, we need to ensure there is a decent amount of quality content on there at launch to drive traffic and engagement from day one. This means we are looking for a ghost writer to write travel guides on various places we've have travelled to to help speed up the process as both of us are tied up with other parts of the project for the next few months.
Overall this could be a big job as we need approx 80 articles. Ideally we want to work with one writer, who is comfortable with working anonymously at this stage (there may be opportunities to host authored blogs once we are earning a revenue from the site). To start the process we are looking for a promising writer to submit one piece to yes their writing style and tone and see if it could read well as our own. It is absolutely essential that you are a native English speaker, i.e. it is your first language.
Overall we want to create a site that is informative but has personality. We're not afraid of the tone being quite spirited, but would avoid it being negative or controversial. Witty, casual, funny and useful are all good angles!
We need one or the other of the following types of post (it's your choice which, please specify which you will work on for this project):
1. Country Mini Guides
EXAMPLE: http://global-goose.com/destinations/asia-destinations/vietnam/a-
very-quick-guide-to-vietnam/
2. Destinational content
EXAMPLE: http://global-goose.com/destinations/asia-destinations/vietnam/buying-a-suit-in-hoi-an-vietnam/
EXAMPLE: http://global-goose.com/destinations/asia-destinations/crossing-
the-street-in-vietnam/
I need articles on the following countries (you can either choose to write a country guide, or a piece of destinational content about anywhere in that country, or any cultural subject of interest. Again, please specify when you send your proposal):
ASIA
- Cambodia
- Thailand
- Malaysia
- Singapore
- Laos
- Sri Lanka
- Vietnam
EUROPE
- Spain
- Portugal
- Germany
- France
- Iceland
- Italy
- Belgium
THE AMERICAS
- Cuba
- Florida
If you have any questions about any of the above please just give us a shout. We're very approachable, friendly and communicative. As freelancer's ourselves, we don't underestimate the importance of those traits to getting the work done the way you want it, and not wasting writers precious time!
All the best,
Amy
