Description
Experience Level: Entry
The blog is to be written for www.shop.cougarsolar.com.
The essence of the blog is not just a blog for blog sake but content that is useful and informative. The content should be written in such a way that people would come back to it as a reference source.
It is essential that the topics do not focus exclusively on the benefits of solar energy and/or solar gadgets.
Topics should come from a range of everyday life issues and then show how solar energy/devices enhance every day living.
For example:
A travel checklist
"Before you go travelling, especially outside the UK, there are several things you need to check before you go away. For instance, you have to check if you would need a visa to enter the country you are going to or if you would need vaccinations. Here's a website [hyperlink] you can use to see if you would require a visa and here's a website [hyperlink] to use if you want to check what vaccinations you need to have had. It is also very important that you think about all your gadgets whilst you are abroad. Not all countries have the same wall sockets as the UK, so you may need alternatives. A good alternative is a solar charger. With solar chargers, not only can you use them whilst abroad, you can also use them in the UK. There are some countries where electricity supply is not constant, so if you intend visiting one of such countries, then it is essential you get those solar chargers that come as a combination product. For instance, the Cougar Solar 3 in 1 Solar Charger . . ."
I hope the above example helps to give you an idea of what I am looking for.
I know this is obvious, but I am going to say this in case it isn't for some. When quoting a source, it is very important that you include a link to the source. All references have to be linked.
Word count should roughly be about 500 - 600 words on average.
So to summarise, engaging content on topics from everyday life that can be used as a reference source (not all blogs should exclusively be that).
This would be a long term job for the right person.
In other to pick the right person, I would be happy to accept initially up to 4 writers to write once a week each. This way I get to see a range of writing styles and to see who best understands what my needs are.
The ultimate aim is to release about 3 blogs a week.
The ideal person should have knowledge about the solar industry and solar gadgets or can easily read up and get up to speed.
Once we are happy with the person's writing style, the person would be considered to run our monthly magazine (soon to be launched) that is emailed to all our subscribers and shared with our social media fans/followers
