Wordpress/woocommerce support

I have a wordpress ecoomerce site which has been constructed and uploaded to my hosting company. I have tried today to add a new product following the video that the developer that created the project sent me.

It didn't work and I wasn't happy with the work that I paid a lot of money for so I'd rather find someone who knows what they are doing!

I need someone to take a look at the site,

1) make sure everything is as it should be and functioning correctly
2) leave me with the ability to upload my own products to the various product categories that have been implemented
3) provide ongoing support for this site
4) build new ecommerce sites in the future for me.

The first issue I have is that on trying to add a new product when choosing the category you can't check the check box, I've nosied about a bit ( I haven't a clue what I'm doing) In the dashboard under woocommerce right now, categories are showing as "on hold" in red.....could this be the issue....apparently I don't have sufficient permission to change this! or the rather the knowledge.
