Description
Experience Level: Expert
- Site objective
• Company website with blog.
• Clean design that’s easy to navigate.
• Easy to use CMS – adding posts and pages easily.
The site does not need to sell as such, but it must provide the right image (outlined below), allow us to communicate with clients and make us easy to contact. A theme such as ‘Forefront’ with customisations may be appropriate for this but I’m open to your suggestions.
- You
I’m looking to work with someone with experience of creating similar sites and who has a combination of excellent design and technical skills. You’ll be great with Wordpress specifically. Your availability to meet in person at the outset would be a benefit but is not essential.
- Background
Our current website runs on an ancient version of Joomla and looks very dated. I previously kept a blog in WordPress and having found it user friendly in terms of CMS, hence I think it’s the right platform for Nisus.
I previously started building a site in Wix However, I abandoned that because of niggling problems such as display inconsistency between devices. Furthermore, I recognise it’s better to work with a good designer than to go DIY! On the upside, producing that site meant getting all the copy ready for a new one so that’s mostly done (bios, case studies etc).
Note, we use a local IT consultant for ad-hoc support and who will probably liaise with you regarding hosting and any technical requirements.
- About Nisus Consulting
Nisus conducts market research for large London law firms. We’re based in a small office near Sevenoaks, Kent. The core team is Graham Archbold and Tim Nightingale, along with a number of consultants we bring in ad-hoc for projects.
Traditionally our research meant conducting lots of in-depth face to face interviews with senior executives. More recently we’ve produced an online feedback and benchmarking service/system which is regarded as innovative within our marketplace. We need to communicate that we are still about personal interaction but that we’re now leading the way with big data.
Note, we don’t want to change the logo or corporate identity. We can supply guidelines for colours, logo use etc.
- Budget
Our budget is £300 plus the cost of any templates, plugins etc. Post setup support will be an agreed rate.
- Timing
We’d like to get started in July with a site live by the end of August at the latest. However, if it’s possible to get up and running sooner, then all the better.
- ADDITIONAL EDIT:
I didn't realise PPH had censored out my links - here they are with spaces:
Mocked up: garchbold . wix. com / nisus
Current site: nisus . net
