Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic developer to further develop an API to allow communication between Java applications and a PHP blog.
We are looking for someone who:
- has strong experience with both Java, PHP, and JUnit, with proof of previous work
- has strong experience of Eclipse IDE for Java and PHP and Ant for builds
- has experience of the PHP / Java Bridge
- is capable of providing, configuring and maintaining their own local HTTP Server with an instance of a simple Wordpress blog for development and testing purposes (e.g. Xampplite)
- potentially has experience of working with the Wordpress API (this would be very beneficial)
- potentially has experience of working with the Spring framework (configuration and testing) – this would be useful but is not a must-have
- has strong English skills
- will liaise with our technical team over any technical queries
- is willing to work in iterations (where it makes sense to do so) to avoid any last minute issues
- will demonstrate verification of the software delivered to us
- will deliver a complete archive of files necessary, including test code, to enable us to integrate the software into our system
To support you in this we will provide:
- a clear specification of the work, with a well-defined interface and clear definition of the functionality required
- an agreed timescale for the work
- a point of contact for any queries you have
- details of language and tool versions to ensure compatibility with our existing environment
- copies of the API’s, PHP and Java projects and documents, an archive of the required 3rd party libraries (jars), an example Wordpress archive and MySQL dump for a test blog
- example code and tests
We request that:
- you do not subcontract any of the work without prior agreement with ourselves
If you do wish to express an interest in this work please note that as well as fulfilling the skills listed above we will ask you to confirm:
- your normal working hours (we are based in the UK)
- whether you work on your own or as part of a team
- whether this work will done as part of your normal working day or around another job/ studies
