Website design with cms

I want a website that isn't a WP or other blog template site so I guess is html but I want to an easy way to change content, navigation etc as easily in a blog. So a CMS website is what I am looking for, I'm not an expert so excuse my vagueness and will need so direction.

I have an existing website which is what I want updated and completely redesigned to look much slicker so it's design as well as programming I'm after if I am using the correct terms.
