Design and Build a Website
Build a new website that enables on-line racing for fundraising. (Think wacky races).
The system will be for use by schools and charities to buy a virtual race, they will run races for fundraising purposes. They will buy a single race or unlimited races for 1 year. Each race might run form a day to 2/3 weeks.

Each race will be run against a scenario which will include (basic) maps. These scenarios could include things such as Lands End to John o Groats, around the world, dessert race easter egg race (collecting easter eggs) etc.
Each player will choose their token and each token will have special features that will impact how the token behaves (think top trump cards).
The token could be selected from cars/ planes/boats/animals/hot air balloons/ submarines/easter bunnies etc, etc.
The system should enable some element of skill to determine the winner, so the player should choose the token and the token needs somehow to be editable in a way that would make it more or less likely to win, depending on the scenario.
Eg: Each scenario will need to have hazards that impact on the race outcome and the selection of the token and editing of its properties needs to impact the race somehow.
For instance each race could have certain weather types that could be applied and each day a weather type would influence the tokens. Eg scenario 1 could have a chance of 40% chance of sun, 10% chance of rain or 50% chance of wind. One weather type is chosen at random each day and applied to the movements of each token. So a hot air balloon might do well if the wind blows in the right direction it if is windy whereas if there is little wind it might do badly. If a sea race a yacht might do very well on days with high wind but poorly on days with no wind .
The possible weather is given before the player selects token with a forecast for the duration of the race for the scenario

Each player will buy a token online [or the system will enable a race admin person to enter details in bulk and sell races for real cash) The race will be against a map (simplified world map / uk map etc) and the user will be able to see the leader board, their own token on the map and a summary of how their token is doing (mini report on day).

The token purchase and lookup and leader board must be viewable on mobile friendly web pages.

The system must be able to have 3 roles:-
my admin - setup races / offer free race/ enter tokens, maps, create scenarios etc, specify promo codes, use and value setup payment controls;. edit any details for charity admin / races

the charity admin:-
create account, create races, make payment (enable promo codes here) to us, and set method of receiving payment (eg enter their paypal details) for their players. When they sell ticket money could go straight to their paypal accounts(?)
set race scenario, price of token, end and start times, must also allow bulk entry of players and be able to specify different leader boards for each token (eg for schools, have leader board broken down to class etc), this leader board viewable / printable or deliverable via email.

the player:-
should be able to select race from list, enter name, contact details, view race scenario and forecasts etc and view/ choose /edit token. They should be able to pay online (paypal) for their token.
Should be able to view leader board, lookup their token, see mini report


Overall
The system needs to be simple to setup for the charity admin people, and simple and fun for the players.
The (simplified cartoon type) maps need to be created and the sets of tokens graphic cartoon type needs to be created as part of this work.
There needs to be 2 lots of explanatory animation / video/ diagrams on main site to show charity people how system works and to show players what to do.
The system needs to be able to function internationally in English speaking countries and so a country template needs to be provided (convert currencies etc).
There needs to be provision for direct linking to race pages as well as a lookup, and there needs to be onsite downloadable marketing materials to print and display by charities.
