Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
The issue is:
Each time we save any settings in WPML, the plugin changes the WordPress rewrite rules within the .htaccess file from
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
<-- working rules
to
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /de/
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /de/index.php [L]
<-- creates error 500
Is there any possibility to remove the update function from WPML for this part? Or will it be enough to restrict write access for the htaccess file to prevent WPML from changing it? Will this option cause issues in the future (besides having to chmod every time a change is planned)?
Same error :
