Description
Experience Level: Expert
General information for the website: PR
Kind of development: Customization of existing website
Description of requirements/features: Hello!
I am working on a Wordpress site which needs a couple of tweaks and am wondering if you might be able to help. How are you with Genesis and the Studiopress themes?
I am putting a site together for a client who has provided a pretty specific brief. At present there are 2 main things that still need to be addressed, one with far greater priority than the other.
1) I need to replace the drop down archive filtering with something a bit more aesthetically pleasing...it doesn't have to look exactly like the brief, but should allow people to filter by month/year and preferably be a bit slicker in appearance than a dropdown box. I would imagine there is a Genesis hook for this but am open to suggestions.
2) The other issues are with the archive pages/template:
a) currently there is a "blog" page which displays some content with a list of recent posts underneath it and has a drop down box to filter by month/year. If you select a month from the drop down, it is only producing one post on the resulting archive page (currently January 2015 is the only month with more than one post, so best to use that as the month to test with). I think I have set things up in the functions.php file to limit it to 5 posts, but it is not working so I have obviously overlooked something.
b) the resulting archive page should look like the other pages (i.e. it should have the same page content above the filtered posts). This will make more sense if/when you have a look at the site. I Imagine it might be possible to create a way to filter the posts directly on the "blog" page, which would be optimal, but if not, would it be possible to include the about/contact/last week content on the archive pages?
Hope that helps, but let me know if you have any questions. If you are interested, I can certainly grant you access to the site and provide any additional information you need, including the client's brief.
If it all makes sense, let me know roughly how much you might charge for this and what sort of timeframe I could expect. As with every client I would ideally love this to be done yesterday, but fully understand that I must wait my turn! :)
Many thanks!
