Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
The site is http://34.193.163.246/
Below are the changes to be made:
MAIN PAGE
--the labels for topics (relationships, beauty, fashion, etc) below each picture should be slightly smaller font (right now the font size makes it look too much like the headline) and underlined with teal, like on Kinfolk.com
-We'd like to get rid of the gradient/filtered look of the photos. As such, we'd like the headlines to be in black below the photos. The feature photos should be a little smaller to accommodate this.
--There seems to be a responsiveness issue with the photos across the site. They are cutting off in weird places. Can that be fixed?
--the search should just be the magnifying glass that expands to the box when you click it (like Mother.ly).
--Subscribe/login should be on the right hand side, next to magnifying glass (like Shop is next to magnifying glass on Mother.ly)
--We are struggling with the infinite scroll, as we would like readers to eventually reach the footer. We don't want it super short, Kinfolk seems to have the right amount figured out, with perhaps a "see more" button above the footer (like our current site).
--We'd like a banner image above the masthead, like Kinfolk.com. It's where we'll be promoting our subscriber content, not immediately but in the coming months, so we'd like the site to have that feature. I have attached a filler image for now.
MOBILE
--everything seems to be pushed to the left of the screen, leaving the right margin a tad larger than the left. Kinfolk.com mobile seems to unify the size and shape of photos in order to avoid this.
--The stacking of the menu on Mobile looks odd. Verily logo should be the top thing that is seen, and everything else (including social media tags, subscribe/login and search) should be in the stacked menu.
--on the homepage, can we have a scroll/flip right feature for each category, instead of 3 stacked for each? (I noticed on the article pages, the recommended articles has this feature) The topics should again be in text and underlined in teal, no boxes.
ARTICLE PAGES
--We think we would like some version of the rectangle photos like Mother.ly (that are responsive, so we don't have to crop photos). Size should be such that article body text is higher on the page.
--The zoom/scroll feature on the pictures is distracting and we'd like it removed.
--We'd like to see a mock-up of the title in a script on article pages only (just to see if we like it). We have purchased White Oleander, but for the purposes of seeing if we like the layout, we're flexible on the font.
--the tags at the bottom of the page should not be boxed, but should match the homepage with small font and teal underline, like Kinfolk
