Hi,
I have had a crowdfunding website developed using a Wordpress theme called Fundify(http://themeforest.net/item/fundify-crowdfunding-wordpress-theme) which needs some urgent work before launch.
Work it needs:
1) PAYMENT PROCESSING:
I want to use Go Cardless as a payment processor for a number of reasons, particularly as it allows me to charge people in the future, i.e. pre-authorise payments.
The way funding works on crowdufunding sites is either:-
- projects only get funded when the whole amount wanting to be raised, is raised. (all or nothing funding)
- Alternatively, there is flexible funding, and this is when whatever amount is raised at the end of the project duration (3 months), is collected and passed to a project owner
So in both these instances you will see that I need the option to collect payments when we are ready to.
So ultimately i want people pledging towards a project to give me 4 months preauthorisation when they make a pledge.
Fundify recommend using an EDD Go Cardless plugin which I have had installed on the site:
https://easydigitaldownloads.com/extension/gocardless-payment-gateway/
however, this plugin charges people immediately rather than creating a pre authorisation.
However, i have come across this other plugin, http://codecanyon.net/item/gocardless-for-wordpress-plugin/3207246
This does pre-authorisations and so rather than instantly collecting pledges and allows you to charge each person manually at a later date.
i spoke to the developers of this plugin and we should be able to pick some of the bits from their plugin and add it to the edd plugin for preauthorisations (that is just an idea, im open to your suggestions)
There is also another issue to keep in mind:-
as crowdfunding inevitably involves lots of people investing towards a project, which could mean 1000's of investors for one project charging them all manually one at a time, doesnt seem too practical
So we would ideally need to be able to see everyone whos contributed towards a certain project.....and then press 'charge all' and collect all the funds for a project...with ideally some kind of list of payments which have failed, sum of figure for total collected, failed etc.
Fundify does group together backers towards a project, even though its not strictly linked to a payment system, so this is something it could link off for reporting purposes
So options are to adapt the existing plugins for a workable solution, or just develop the payment processing bit seperately.
Also, there will be a transaction charge for go cardless which we need to add to each pledge. Fundify has the ability for a transaction charge anyway i think so it probably just needs to tie in
2) PROJECT SIGN UP TEXT BOXES
When someone is adding a project to the site, I do not like the text boxes used by the forms for the existing questions. They are not very user friendly, particularly as it is difficult to add images and video. Also they are very small for the amount of information they are requesting per question.
I want to change these text boxes to better ones, which are clear and easy to add images and video. The functionality needs to remain the same though, as in the answers still need to goto the same place in admin and the front end.
3) OTHER FIXES
There are few other (seemingly) minor things that have cropped up during development such as certain bits have stopped displaying on teh front end or stopped working, when they used to before. I can explain these to you in more detail.
This is a very urgent job and so i need someone who can get this done within a few days, definitely much less than a week. I think to ensure this work is done swiftly, you will probably need a strong udnerstanding of wordpress and particularly knowledge of customising the functionality of plugins.
Thank you!
