Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I have hired someone before to create a plugin for WooCommerce. This plugin allows you to select the delivery date, but it needs adjusting.
Currently it is a slider of the upcoming days which you can select, but need to adjust it to pretty much 3 specific options:
Next day delivery - the cutoff time for next day delivery is 2PM:
- On Tuesday before 2PM, this options should say Wednesday, and after 2PM this is Thursday.
- On the weekend this changes a bit, on Friday before 2PM, next day delivery is for Monday, but after 2PM, the next day delivery is Tuesday. All the way through Saturday and Sunday and additionally Monday (before 2PM), the cutoff date is for Tuesday.
Free delivery - The next 2 days after the next day delivery
- Lets say it's Tuesday after 2PM, so next day delivery is Wednesday. The free delivery option should say Thursday-Friday.
- Lets say it's Saturday, so next day delivery is Tuesday, the free delivery option should say Wednesday-Thursday.
Today, this should be before the above 2, but thought it would be clearer if the above was explained first:
- This should be today - not selectable, after 2PM this should be tomorrow but say 'Past cut-off', unselectable.
I don't think this plugin was properly integrated and some bits are hardcoded, I would like to be able to change the shipping price and really it should be handled by the WooCommerce shipping prices, so we can change that in the settings and not in code.
I think there is a bug on selecting a day, the chosen option doesn't have the hover style (it should, so it clearly shows which option is selected).
The chosen date should be fed through to WooCommerce, or explain to me how do we know which option/date is selected.
Future: We need a way to take off days, for example bank holidays (think Easter, Christmas, etc) are ignored by the plugin, it would be a great bonus if these dates could be selected somehow in a backend.
Testing, it can be pretty difficult to test this on the right days, perhaps you know a solution like changing the time/day WordPress think it is?
I NEED an update today, don't apply if you can not start immediately. Start your proposal with the word 'IMMEDIATELY' so I know you have read the full brief.
